Celebrating Birthdays

We happily celebrate each child's birthday. If your birthday falls on a weekend or holiday, you are free to select either the Friday before or the Monday after your actual birthday as your day of celebration. If you have a summer birthday, feel free to arrange a special day, if you like. We will hang the birthday flag outside the classroom.

If your birthday falls in the summertime, feel free to check the birthday graph in the classroom to select a date that is not otherwise occupied by another student. We will display the flag for your birthday on that date.

Consider the following options for celebrating:

  1. Just hang the flag at school.

  2. Mom, Dad, or a grandparent (or any other person who is important to you) may make arrangements with Mrs. Laurich to come and read a special story or book to the class.

  3. Donate a book to the class in honor of your birthday.

  4. Bring a small treat for each student in the class. It needs to be something simple and easy to pass out. Please try to select a healthy treat (perhaps from the list distributed at Back-to-School Night). Please check with Mrs. Laurich ahead of time.
